Principal / Executive Leadership Team

2023 Eating & Play Timetable Changes
Healthy eating positively influences young people’s growth and development and lifelong health and wellbeing trajectory. Healthy eating can improve student concentration, mood, memory, learning, academic performance and mental wellbeing and give them the fuel they need to thrive. To support better outcomes we are considering changes to our timetable. Like many schools do now, we are proposing the change of swapping our recess and lunch break times. You can look at the table below to see the proposed changes:
2022 Timetable | 2023 Proposed Timetable |
10:55am-11am: Recess eating outside 11am-11:25: Recess play 1:27pm-1:37pm: Lunch eating outside 1:37pm-2:07pm: Lunch Play 2:10pm: Lunch finishes | 9:55am-10:05am: Fruit snack in classroom 11am: Lunch play 11:30am-11:40am: Lunch eating in classroom 1:40pm: Recess eating outside 2:10pm: Recess finishes |
We welcome any feedback on these proposed changes to assist us in making a final decision. Please do this by completing this survey:

Junior Unit News
We ended this week with reflection, appreciation and gratitude as we pay our respects to all service men, women and animals who gave their time (and lives) for others.
Having Josh Carmichael visit on Wednesday was a HUGE honour for our students. They asked many interesting questions, listened attentively and had the opportunity to have items signed by Josh. We are grateful for the terrific organisation from Mrs Carmichael and our leadership team as well as the MAGNIFICENT manners shown by our Junior Unit students. All students received a signature from Josh to take home.
Next week, we are introducing our students to the biblical passage, The Shepherds and the Angels- Luke 2:8-20. Students are reflecting on the similarities of Luke's nativity story in comparison to other Gospel stories as well as enhancing their knowledge of Advent.
We continue to build on our knowledge of ‘stress’. After unpacking what it might look like, sound like and feel like for some people, we begin to discuss the importance of relaxation techniques.

Junior Book Reviews: Please take a moment to check out the reviews that the children in Year 1 & 2 have completed! They have all worked exceptionally hard to find a book they enjoyed, rate it, and write a short review. These can be found on the library windows, both inside and outside.
Middle Unit “My Interests”: Year 3 & 4 students have this week taken time to assess their own slide shows and post to Seesaw. Many students have really tried hard to research and present a topic that they are interested in!
Scholastic book Club issue #8 has been sent out today. All orders will need to be in no later than Wednesday 23rd November to allow for delivery. This is a great opportunity for some secret santa gifts! Just remember to click the “gift” box when ordering online.
The student’s last day of borrowing books will be the Friday 25th November. ALL books are to be returned to the library no later than Friday 2nd December to allow time to check all books back in. Please make sure you encourage your child to have a hunt for any missing books - we currently have about 150 books that are overdue! Let’s get this down to 0 by the end of the year!!
