School Reports
Teachers are currently finalising end of semester reports. These reports will demonstrate a judgement for curriculum areas and compare their learning to a previous judgement. Children who are identified as ‘EAL- English as an Additional Language’ have their progression marked on an EAL English Curriculum Pathway. Reports will be released on PAM on Monday 19th June. We encourage you to read the reports closely and bring these to Parent Teacher Interviews (Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st June) to discuss any concerns or to clarify any aspects with your child’s teacher.
Learning Diversity News
Coco, the school’s wellbeing dog has been visiting students during class time who are a little apprehensive of the thought of a dog at school and in classrooms. She made another visit today and the students seem to be feeling happier about her and her presence in the school soon.
It will be Coco’s first real introduction to the classes this week. She visited the junior students yesterday and the rest of the school community today. Coco will be attending school for two days a week, until the end of term and until she is familiar with her surroundings, calm and happy.
The students have been discussing the three expectations of having a wellbeing dog on site, in their classrooms -
The three expectations are very important for everyone to follow, as it sets the scene for Coco to feel safe and calm, something that will flow on to the students when she is in their classrooms. When these three expectations have been established and embedded within the school community and Coco is ready, she will attend school each day.
Program Support Group (PSG) Meetings - Thank you to the parents who attended their child’s PSG meeting this week. These meetings were for students who receive either extensive (all the time) or substantial (most of the time) adjustments to their program, so not all students who have an Individualised Learning Program (ILP) had a scheduled PSG meeting this term. The remaining students who receive either supplementary (some of the time) or Quality Differentiated Teaching Program (QDTP) adjustments will have their term 2 goals, evidence of progress and term 3 goals communicated and discussed at the Parent/Teacher Interviews at the end of this term.
As part of the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) on School Students with Disability, schools are required to inform parents and caregivers what the NCCD is, why the data is collected, what schools must do for students with disability, what information is collected and more. Please read this information sheet to familiarise yourself with the NCCD processes.
Autumn Fun!
Some fun photos of our students enjoying the last few Autumn leaves in our Adventure Playground!
Prep Unit News
WOW! WOW! WOW! What an amazing display of dancing last night. A big thank you to our prep parents for the effort you put into the students costumes and for dancing up a storm with them on the night. A massive WELL DONE to the students in Prep (and Year 1 and Year 2)... you all danced like super stars. This week the Prep students have been doing a lot of learning about patterns, writing sentences and have continued listening to The Creation Story from the Bible. Ask your child if they know whether The Creation Story comes from The Old Testament or The New Testament? The sounds you will need to be continually practising at home are: m, s, t, a, p, i, n, f, r, o, c, h, d, e, g and the tricky words: I, the, my, a, is, was, you, to, they, that, said.
Some reminders for the beginning of term:
- Please cover your child’s reading diary in clear contact.
- School starts at 8:45am each day. If you are at school after 8:45am you will need to sign your child in at the office.
- Your child’s library bag needs to be at school every day - kept in their school bag.
- Sports days are Tuesday and Wednesday - sports uniform is needed.
- Practise the sound and fluency chart each night to develop automaticity. Automatic recognition of letters/sounds is extremely important in reading and writing.
- Read and record ‘Enhanced Comprehension’ and ‘Reader’ in the reading diary each night.
- Library books are to be returned to school on Fridays.
Have a well deserved long weekend… we will see you all on Tuesday!

Junior Unit News
The rain didn’t dampen the fun we had this week. Our Junior Unit Choir excelled at the Mildura Eisteddfod gaining a well earned Honourable Mention in their category. All students are commended for maintaining a positive attitude, behaving appropriately and performing beautifully. Thank you Mr Barbary for the time, effort and planning you have put into our choir.
Thursday night's Junior Unit Social was super enjoyable! Thank you students, parents and teachers for your energy, enthusiasm, time and organisation. Our students spoke passionately about this event on Friday morning with the highlight of teaching their parents/carers how to dance ‘The Nutbush’ and ‘Cha Cha Slide’. This set off laughter and infectious smiles throughout the room. Thank you for your creativity Mr Barbary.
The students all looked fabulous in their ‘Dancing Through the Decades’ outfits. We thank families for organising awesome costumes and delicious plates of supper. Our sincere thanks to our Sacred Heart staff for your assistance in setting up, packing up and support to make this event so successful. Our heartfelt appreciation to the Tallent family for loaning us their ‘disco ball’ decorative display for the evening and all our lovely families for helping pack up
Bundaleer will attend Mass on Wednesday 14th at 9:30am. You are all welcome to attend.
We wish everyone a lovely long weekend and look forward to seeing all our gorgeous children back at school on Tuesday

Orders for the Scholastic Book Club Issue #4 are now closed and finalised. Usually, within a fortnight, orders are delivered to SHPS and given to students via their classroom teachers.
Occasionally, some orders may be on backorder. If this is the case, students receive a small gift with a note from Scholastic Australia regarding the backorder’s new estimated arrival date.
If you have questions or issues with Book Club, please don’t hesitate to contact me rather than directly messaging Scholastic.
